Course Description

Advanced Technical Composition is a course in the theory and application of technical communication principles. Students are taught to identify and analyze the purpose and audience involved in any given writing situation, perform research when necessary, write clearly and concisely, and design attractive documents that are easy to read. They apply these principles to different genres, ranging from memos to instructions to proposals. At the end of the course, students are required to submit a portfolio of their best work. Students who successfully pass the course demonstrate the skills to prepare professional business and technical documents in the workplace.
