Build Your Network

Your Network is made up of your Friends, Favorites and Fans. You Network grows as more users are added to each category. >>Get more info on Friends, Favorites and Fans

Add Friends

You can invite anyone to be your Friend from several places throughout Scholar:

  1. From their Profile page - Add as Friend button at the top of the profile >>More on how to view Profiles
  2. From any User Search results - all results to a User Search will give you the option to add each of the users in the results as Friends (if they are not already your Friend)
  3. From your Favorites or Fans tabs in your Network - within your Network, you have the ability to add users as Friends that are your Favorites or Fans by clicking the "Add as Friend" in their listing

Once you add someone as a Friend via any of the ways above, this will generate an email invitation, as well as a notification within Scholar to that user. The user must then accept your invitation to become Friends and be added to your Network. If the user rejects your invitation, s/he will not be added to your Network as a Friend.

Add Favorites

You can add anyone to your Favorites from several places throughout Scholar:

  1. From their Profile page - Add as Favorite button at the top of the profile >>More on how to view Profiles
  2. From any User Search results - all results to a User Search will give you the option to add each of the users in the results as Favorites (if they are not already your Favorite)
  3. From your Friends or Fans tabs in your Network - within your Network, you have the ability to add users as Favorites that are already your Friends or Fans by clicking the "Add as Favorite" next to their listing in the appropriate Network tab

Once you have added someone to your Favorites using one of the ways above, this will immediately add them to your Network as Favorites and you will show up in their Network as their Fan.

Fans

Your Network of Fans will grow automatically as more people add you as their Favorites. If a user adds you to their Favorites, they become your Fan.
