You can remove Friends or Favorites in several ways:
From your Network view
Go to your Scholar Home
In the right column, make sure the My Network panel is expanded (you should see a thin bar in the upper right corner of the My Network section of the panel. If you see a box instead, click on that to expand the section)
Click View All Friends/Favorites/Fans depending on which tab is showing
Next to the Friend or Favorite you want to remove, click the "Remove as Friend/Favorite" next to their listing.
From User Search results
After any search, under the user search results, if any of your Friends or Favorites are listed in the results, you will see a "Remove as Friend/Favorite" button to the right of their listing. Clicking that will remove them from the applicable part of your Network.
