Invitations are generated to initiate a Friend relationship. If I add you as my Friend, you will receive an invitation via email, as well as through a notification within Scholar.

Receiving an Invitation
Invitations sent to you will arrive in two forms:
- An email to the primary email address in your account in Scholar
- A notification in your Notifications within Scholar >>More on Notifications
To View Invitations
You can view your invitations in various ways:
- Clicking through the link in the invitation email you received
- Clicking "View the Invitation" in the Notifications you received
- Clicking the "View Invitations" link that appears in the My Notifications & Invitations panel on your Scholar Home page.
Each of these take you to your Invitation management page where you can use switch between viewing all of your Sent and Received invitations and the status of each. You can also remove invitations from your list and cancel sent invitations from this page as well.
- To remove - simply click the box by the invitation you want to remove from your queue and click the Remove button at the bottom right corner
- To cancel a sent invitation - click over to the Sent invitations view by clicking the Sent tab and click the Cancel button on the invitation you want to cancel. This will generate another notification to the user telling them you have canceled the invitation. They won't be able to accept your original invitation from that point onward, although you can always generate a new Friend invitation, if you want.
To Accept/Reject Invitations
Once you are viewing the invitation, you can Accept or Reject it using the buttons alongside the invitation listing. If you Accept it, you will become Friends with the user who sent it and if you Reject, that user will not be added to your Network as a Friend, nor will you be added to theirs.
